Personally. The popular spots are pretty dam average. Choppy and crowded.
However there are spots up and down from brisbane (caloundra/goldcoast) that have some really awesome flat spots.
Were having a good season, we get 0 wind during winter though..
not sure what rock you hide under during winter but my 8m tends to come out more often during winter than it does during summer!
if you dont like flat water dont move to brisbane as you have a 1 hour drive to get to waves
