Most of the time the wind will have a bit of east in it so maroochy is still good, other options on the sunny coast are the noosa river mouth or the double island point lagoon, but you will need a 4wd to get there.

Yeah Wyeba sucks balls. Boreen point or Golden Beach are much better options. Boreen in a northerly and golden beach in a Southerly (flood tide). Boreen is a bit of a drive but you generally get it to yourself and if you stuff up you don't have to worry about tides or deep water.

Sorry to sound negative , but you scare me.
from your posts you have had one lesson kiting about a week so of time on water ,have FA experience, probably no prior wind sport experience, and then go and set up for a kite in a lake surrounded by trees on a gusty 22-28knt day, the next thing I'm waiting to here is that you were trying to hold a 12m. Sounds like your aiming to make the news ! Get some more supervised time and aim to get out on the open beaches, least the wind is more consistent and plenty of space for launching etc , lot safer, maybe spend some time with the kite in light winds without a chicken loop also so you actually will learn some respect for the power of it, and don't kite anywhere near me, your scary.

Golden beach is pretty good on the right tide, flooding in a SE and ebbing in a NE. When the tide is dropping watch out for the channels as the water funnels through there very quickly. If you drop your kite in one of those sections you wont get it up again if its a wind with tide situation. There are some massive sand bars that sit just under the water though, body drag out to one of them and muck around practicing turns and jumps..there are usually a few kiters around when its the right time to be kiting and they are a friendly helpful bunch.

In a northerly the sunny coast will seabreeze esp'in summer say 26deg and hotter this puts E'ly into direction for 1-2kms inland lasts at river mouth till 5-ish. With tide ok it is terrific spot...
