Hey man, welcome to the Goldy! Go to www.kitesurfininggoldcoast.com.au and have a read. Paul and Angie will get you going with lessons for $139 for a 2 hour lesson and they do the theory at night at the shop so you dont waste kite time learning how a kite flies. Here's their numbers: Paul 0418 722 928 or Angie 0437 533 324

Hey surfconnect
Are you sure that they are IKO i just had a look and they weren't on the Accredited schools list. Maybe they are i just looked in the wrong spot? Not that it really matters I've done all that iko stuff and was a Accredited school for a bit i'm not now seems like a waste of money really as my school is still fully insured and and the lesson structure is a lot better now i don't have to stick to the bull **** that iko goes on with. i'm still an IKO certified instructor but just think there are better ways to teach with out all the IKO costs

Yes mate, Steve did his IEC at our school last year and his rego is current as listed on the IKO website -

1955 - Simmons, Stephen
Level: Level 2 (Water)
Certified since: 24 Nov 2007

I spoke to Rob (Kamikaze's boss) only a few days ago and they have another level 2 instructor working at the shop too.

As far as our school is concerned, IKO is a must as it is the governing body of schools and instructors for many countries around the world, and AKSA recognises IKO here in Australia. Its accreditation sets the standards of teaching and ensures the sport is taught in a safe and professional manner. It also recognises the learning by awarding the students with IKO cards which gives them access to rental at any IKO Centres around the world, insurance cover, and many other benefits.
