heading up Mackay way, any tips on some good spots with accomodation or camping?

Depends what you're into - what's your lifestyle, do you mind doing it rough, prefer camping or sleeping in 5 star luxury? You will find almost everything of the above around Mackay and the Whitsundays. Mackay is a great spot but you have to know the tides there as they go out for miles. Go and see Adrenaline Rush, they usually have a mobile setup at Town Beach..... they will sort you out.
