narrowneck has flags (swimming areas) upwind and downwind.
when kiters stuff up and ride or crash into the swimmers the council lifeguard come and tell the "pensioners" as mantis put it so nicely! to tidy their mates act up or official complaints will be forwarded to council regarding removal of kiters from the area.
the signs are a suggestion.
those guys have been there forever.(as far as wind sports go.)
it is a free country.
do what you feel is right.
i'm sure they will too.
all the old crew at the neck are cool friendly dudes, introduce yourself, thank them for their concerns and promise that you are competent enough to stay upwind and won't do show off moves 50 yards from the flags.
rant over!
