I am working in Brisbane CBD for the next few months, without access to a car, so was planning to take the train up to Sandgate to go kiting. However, I was looking for some advice as to how well the local readings map to what is actually happening on the water there. Also, I have had a look at the webcam at surfconnect, but is it pretty hard to see what the water looks like - any other options?

I have done it a bit going to sandgate with the train.
And many times I went there for nothing because the wind like to drop early

Redcliffe observations on seabreeze are quite good.
Like today they were saying 14-15 knots and it was more or less that.
Just sometimes, with SE also, they observe 18 knots but you arrive and there is lot less. Don't know why.
For the NE the observations seem better.
The thing is that I found the wind better in Brighton with SE but then you have to walk for a while, or there is a bus coming frequently from the train station.
