Not trying to get in a debate here about day light saving , but it would be awesome to finally be able to get a kite in after work if it happens in SEQ.

When I lived in Melbourne used to go a few times during the week, not been able to here due to it being dark when I get home.

Anyway I will believe it when I see it!!

I am born and bread here but Queenslanders have a weird way of thinking when it comes to this subject. We had a trial a few years back and it was awesome but people voted against it. I would love someone to give a serious and legitimate reason not to have it.

I was speaking to a guy from work about this one day. He said he preferred not to have daylight saving because he could ride his bike for longer in the morning before work. What kind of a sick world are we living in eh?

Guess that has a lot to do with the concept of a split zone within the state

AND the fact that many percieve the hole Daylight Saving debate a smokescreen to divert attention away from the issues troubling the Bligh Government at the moment.

I am keen to have Daylight Saving from both a leisure time aspect as well as having experienced the loss of productivity in the time differences experienced between my businesses in Queensland, NSW and Vic.

Essentially I lost an hour of interstate commumication in the morning due to the time difference (they are open for business and we are not) and then a further hour in the evening (we are open and they are not).

This equated to 10 hours of interrupted communication per week. 25% of a 40 hour week.

Pretty bad really !!!!

^^^ What fitzy said!! I am not sure how much longer i can put up with seeing the wind come in at lunch, blow 20kn all arvo and then at 5pm when i finish work it backs off to a puff!! too ****ty to surf and not windy enough to kite! this frustrates me alot!!!!!

I recon its a bad idea, that extra hour of daylight will make my kite fade lol
