any other divers on this forum between Gold Coast seaway & Mackay - we need to know water visibility. I live in Brisbane & have to travel to scuba, often there is only 2 or 3 metre vis. We would like to know the visibility prior to departure

2 -3 m you would not bother , I've had shore dives way better than that , Tweed river or Southport seaway are the easy ones to get to , then you got Kirra reef if it's not too rough, coming into winter is the best wind conditions and visibility.the river shore dives you need to get the exact tide , usually the very top of the flooding tide ,once the tide starts ripping out the vis comes straight down.

The rain has not been kind to the vis but coming into winter things should be looking up.most offshore sites would average at least 10-15 m + .plenty of charters on both coasts and Brisbane , Lady Elliott is the best spot I have dived in se qld .

For weather and reports visit coast watch. www.coastwatch.com.au/
