Just look at today's chart for the forthcoming week in SE QLD, sucks You know things are bad when you contemplate buying an old 17m Contra.

Was around last year and kited much more than at present. Maybe it's just our local Hervey Bay conditions? You can't tell me that the current graphs and forecasts are decent though?

we've just had 4 straight days of kiteable NE'ers with perhaps another one today so if it doesnt blow for another week then c'est la vie!

i've kited more NE'ers in the last 6 weeks than i did the whole of last season so maybe it's because you are a little further north. were you kiting SE'ers this time last year? maybe some road trips south for you might help.

Yes the wind is awesome in Brisbane at the moment and today is looking just as good. I kited more last winter than i did last summer. Thats how bad the season was last year. Do you not get the north easters up there?????

NE's are rare up here. Fraser Island often deflects anything with too much easterly in it. Went up to Elliott on Saturday as the forecast there was a bit better, still on the light side though.

Yup, totally agree. Have kited more in the last month than I did in the 2010/2011 entire season. Have managed to break more gear too.

Eight days since I posted bemoaning the lack of wind north of the Sunny Coast. Still haven't had anything remotely promising and the next week doesn't look any better either

Friday: Winds: E/NE 10/15 knots. Seas: to 1 metre. Early light shower or two.

Sunday: Winds: E/NE 10/15 knots.

Granted, at the moment it feels that way. But when it picks up, and it will, I don't know of a better place on the east coast to kite flat water with hardly any other kiters around.

I'm thinking of getting the next 7 days Sunny coast graph laminated and put up on my wall. I'd forgotten what nice green arrows looked like. Almost brought a tear to my eye..
