Started about 12:00

Finnished about 4:30

Had 3 breaks

two 5 minute breaks and one 12-15 minute break

We took water with us

Craig took some musili bars

He waited till we finnished to eat them

They were full of sea water Hahahaha

They were so soggy

We bought some food and drink and walked to the bus stop

The bus arrived as soon as we opened the drink and food

No eating or drinking on the bus

The bus rides back took so long

But got off the first bus straight onto the second bus,no waiting

Might do it again today

No worries

Another great session today

Marcus Beach to Cotton Tree with 3 friends

Bit tied after yesterday effort

Went on the 7m, plenty of power

One friends chicken loop activiated whist going round Point Perry

He got it back together then it happened 3 more times

Got into Yaroomba and got it sorted

No bus today

We all got a lift back in a car

Wow thats epic, I'm heading upto Noosa tomorrow for a few days and was toying with putting my gear in the car, although the weather seems to disagree :(
Will it be worth it? Or should I rent a SUP?

Thanks in Advance,

Inspiring - U will get the whole coast frothing
BY the time U cut in & out in the waves you can add 50% to the trip distance!!!! (Google Earth it and measure)

When / where did you leave the shore to get around Point Cartwright?

Any tips and pik's would be great.

Are you in training for the Lighthouse to Leighton's??

G8 effort
Cheers

@RobL - At this time of year, you should get some wind mate, bring your kites.
Forecast is looking great so far, for the next week.

I told Craig and Aaron to hug the coast ,go down towards Mooloolabah beach, then head out towards Point Cartwright,I took off from the rivermouth as I went in and did

some boosting in the river and they were already at Mooloolabah Beach by the time I came back out,

I was so far behind,

had to try and make up some ground

Was easy really,no harder than going round Point Perry, heaps of big blue jellyfish

No we're not in training for any race ,just luv kiting

The first time I did a long DW here on the coast from Castaways to Mudjimba back in January with Toppleover

I stepped off the board at Mudjimba and my legs went to jelly and I nearly fell over

But now I feel Im pretty kite fit

Couldn't run a 100m to save my life but can kite downwind all day

Are thinking about downwinder from Double Island Point to Noosa soon

And from Point Lookout on North Stradbroke Island to the Gold Coast

Craig is keen for a Downwinder from Caloundra out around North Stradbroke to the Gold Coast but Im not

My knees would explod going across all the chop out to Stradbroke

Can kite all day in the flat water between the whitewash and waves but 10 minutes in the choppy ocean is 9 minutes to long for me

If your heading around a headland

My advise is to take it wide

If you drop your kite or have trouble with your gear then you will get blown around the headland

and eventualy back to the beach

You may have to spent some time floating in the ocean 800m out

But it would be better than going close to the headland

where the wind could be fluky

Dropping your kite or having problems and getting washed up on the rocks below the headland with your kite

be sure your kite is in good condition and kite with other people if you can,

If you are going around headlands
