www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Queensland/Why-Cant-we-all-get-along/ I note that u didn't post ur complaint in the qld windsurfing section?
I kite up at that bank quite often with the windsurfers and have never had a problem. If u take a minute and study the loop they are doing it is quite easy to "fit in" whilst staying out of each others way. Generally, u would hug the bank on a starboard tack and be at least 20m away from it on ur return port tack.
I usually find that if u have a problem with someone it is better to sort it out with a reasonable approach there and then.
I saw and observed a quarrel from the distance. I think, frustration comes purely from a safety concern. This is dedicated speed strip and guys are doing speeds well in access of 30 knots regularly with not much margin for error. Jumping in such place could be unwise and what I heard from the distance was " no jumping, please !"
The more we sail along windsurfers and kiters the better cooperation is once we observe and respect habits and limitations of each discipline.
We both got enough trouble with fishermen , anglers, crab pots and boat owners claiming the territory to fight each other.
I could see perfect example of cooperation at busy KFC site where natural separation occurs - kiters taking over slightly shallower sites at the left and right, then windsurfers in the choppy middle, and there is also plenty of space for both kite and windsurf beginners to play.
