You will be fine on a 12, just depower it heaps ;)
If it really is a solid 35 knots (10 min average), there will be gusts of over 40 in it. If you have not kited in really strong winds before, probably best to wait this one out.

Couple of shopping bags from coles would nearly do it!

I'm 82kg and would only fly my 8m in above 30 knts with several years experience. With your weight and apparent lack of experience, I'd guess nothing bigger than that.

alot of the time in over 30knots im begging for a 6m. hanging on to an 8m is a handfull in 35.
there is no way you should go out on a 12m in that wind, especially on the gold coast in a southerly, gusts will definitly put you in the carpark.

Gold! I would only put 20M lines to them though.

depending on your abilities and weight....

I'm 68kgs and I ride a 7.5m Wainman Mr Green in those winds. You could also use a 6 no probs, but again depends on your skill level.

The error for judgement is low if you stuff up in 35 knots.. Make sure your jumps have major consideration especially downwind where you will land.. I've done very big jumps in 30 knots and I have travelled 70 meters plus downwind. Stay well offshore when boosting and be switched on and ready for anything ie self rescue and self preservation. 35 knots isn't for beginners/intermediates.. Be careful but have fun..

We got 35- 40 knots here in perth next week.. Should be interesting!

Swell and chop has a fair bit to add to the equation. Ive been out in a solid 25 knots on an 11m and also an 9m in 25 knots (different time and place). Both times the kite size was perfect. Main difference was the chop.

I'm not a fan of winter winds, gusty, inconsistent, cold bloody westerlies.
