Hey..
So.. after a having a brush with the old big C. I've decided (it was forced on me) life really can be that short, so I want to visit West coast OZ & NZ... It's always been on the list, but never managed to sort it.
Being from the UK, it's a long journey, so want to make sure I get the timings right. Esp. after reading the "Kitesurfing New Zealand" thread. Is it better to do NZ first then, do West coast OZ or the other way round? I could stretch a month away, possibly 6 weeks.

Or are the seasons roughly the same times? So I just need to choose where I want to go first.

I ride SB with a little TT in, the GF rides TT. Both love waves, but some flat water fun is nice sometimes too. But for me, I prefer waves

Nov/Dec is best for NZ waves and wind machine. Spring westerlies and storm swells are combined with summer seabreezes which
makes for some awesome wind and swell combos. Nov is a bit colder with temps in the teens, Dec is hitting 20's.

Jan/feb typically have less swell/less wind. more seabreeze driven kite days.

I suggest nov and or dec in nz then charge over to west oz dec/jan and go and see Cauncy. He seems to have charging wind through jan/feb aswell.

Over the last ten or more years, I think WA has been more reliable in early January or late December. Before and after that can sometimes be good, but the most reliable time will be early to mid Jan.

I don't know anything about NZ though.

NZ in Spring is traditionally the best. But right now has been pumping too. Summers good too when the sea breezes come up. Just keep a close eye on the forecast and move to the appropriate side of the country as needed

We're used to those temps in the UK, that's shorty weather

Haa It's windy in Perth from late Nov till easter
From noon until dark!
If we have a heat wave then you get to have a break and rest your sore bones, next day it's back on
Most days average around 34 degrees
All the girls on the beach are wearing G-strings
and the beers are ice cold.
