Sadly it's been ruined already!! Everyone's cashing in! and marketing it!! We've all seen the Multi-million dollar houses everywhere!! Premium everything!!
The local pub charges $10.60 for a stock standard beer!! Everyone's selling $3000 paintings..... $18.99 for a jar of fkn jam!
The rate housing estates are being built it won't be long till there's a Woolworths, Hoytts, McDonalds, Ikea, Bunnings, car yards and sht, cok n balls are there. Coles have already moved in!

It'll be ciaos like the surf breaks are now.

Mass stripping of Indigenous Forests (40's & 50's)
overfarming (60's, 70's & 80's)
over pricing (90's)
over rated ego's (00's)
blow ins that become locals in a week (00's)
so called 'locals' telling me how it used to be (00's)
exorbitant prices on everything (90's & 00's)
the chance of a mid week 'quiet' surf (00's)
paying a fortune for a night on the soup

Yes. Though don't sign before boycotting Margret river wines, switching off your air-conditioner and plasma television, and agreeing to higher social welfare funding and housing density. Otherwise wholeheartedly bury your hypocrisy, and sign your guilt away.

A few things to consider.

Margs was all cleared in the early years of settlement for farm lands, its pristine condition as mentioned had already been hevily modified.

Wine industry is the primary culprut of environmental change in the region. With all wineries and most new estates ( private hoses ) building dams and altering river system flows. I personally know of some individuals heavily against the mine that have illegally built a dam on there property. Vinyard chemicals and residential scum is polluting the river systems, all these addition dams, the water has to come from somwhere.

The mine Safety case is very strong and have alot of contingencies, I am in the mining industry and know that if the safety case was fraudulate it would mean great liabillty to the operator.

Aquafer monitoring and potential coal debri issues are negilable and explained in safety case.

Sues road was built for this sole purpouse (road haul) , Its not even owned by state roads.

Local buissness and reatil has suffered alot in margs over last couple of years, I am a local bussines owner, due to retail being over priced and tourists that come having no money and are not supporting the towns economy just messing it up and crowding the surf. The mine would create jobs and help local economy.

IMO its a case of not in my back yard get over it and embrace modern mineing operation.

The coal mine will be nothing compared to the potential for disaster if they start offshore oil exploration !!

My bet is that oil drilling will slip under the radar as everyone gets on board the "coal is bad, save Margs" bandwagon.
