As silly as your post is a company should take note as the idea of a collapsible foil is a sick idea. That's one of many things that turn me off foiling,. Having to Bolt it all together before eash session.

Nobody does that. Fits in most cars. Unless you have a bike only.

Looks like a game changer.

It sure does

There's been so many industry hyped 'game changer's' this year, how about the kiteless game changer..

If it ever gets into commercial production, it would sure take the no wind crown.. Not to mention simplifying the learning curve of the kite option..

www.jetfoiler.com/

Not just a mindless gimmick either. It's from the team that did the kiteboat project. A very capable group of people..

Battery technology, that's where the current limit is on so many projects. When they break through the current limits, who knows what will be possible..

Imagine leaving the overpriced kite, bar & lines...in the shop.

From the 'about' page on the website:

"OUR STORY

Kai Concepts is a team of creative problem solvers with a unique combination of backgrounds in engineering, manufacturing, inflatable design, competitive windsurfing and kitesurfing, multimedia production, and software development. Led by Don Montague, our Bay Area team has pushed the limits of water sports innovation for years.

Don's design experience traces back to a career as a sail and kite designer, including a tenure at Naish International as Head of R&D. Don first began experimenting with hydrofoil test platforms through Makani Power, a Bay Area wind power company that he co-founded in 2006. Half of the current Kai Concepts team began their careers with Don at Makani Power, where they were drawn by a promise of changing the world through renewable energy while chasing the wind.

As the creators of the kiteboat, a foiling trimaran pulled by a kite that can sail three times the wind speed, the Kai Concepts team has an unrivaled level of experience with the build, test, and control of hydrofoil systems. More recently, we have expanded our program to include electric motor research, notably converting the kiteboat into an electric foiler (efoil). "The Airfoiler" exceeded 34 knots in initial testing powered by only a few light-weight motors driving propellers in the air. The Jetfoiler represents the next logical step in hydrofoil technology, pairing the sleek and silent foil with a clean and quiet electric motor.

Constructed from the same quality composites used in high-end race boats, the Jetfoiler board and foil are light, strong, and low-drag, allowing the device to take full advantage of the provided power. As a new no-wind-required sport, a fun family excursion, or a training tool for the aspiring kitefoiler, the Jetfoiler allows riders of varying ages and abilities to discover the power and thrill of gliding above the surface of the water."

You may need to iron out few issues with the legs folding, but otherwise it should steam along, especially given the really soft deck.
