I used to live in Kiama, Done a lot of sailing on the lake.
Westerlies were always fun and fairly solid after their run down the mountain.

Reckon your best bet for a launch would be somewhere near the yacht clubs or over near the caravan park, saying that I aint been their in 10 yrs.

Gday 79boarder as pfr said we launch at primbee across the lake from the yacht club. Very dodgy launch area, much safer with others to help launch and land kites . Very flat water for 3 kms . Here is a vid of the place taken a couple of years ago. Quality isnt real good but it will give you some idea of it

Havent seen ya kite anywhere but Warilla for 3 mths of the year doc . If others want to try the lake let them judge it for themselves. Beats trollin seabreeze forums for 9mths

Where are some decent spots to go out in westerly down this way I've only been down Jervis bay would be nice to go out somewhere a bit closer.

I haven't found too many yet, but i'll give the lake a try tomorrow.

Even thought about just getting a jet ski then just heading down the local beach for westerly. Always seems a waist driving past the beach in a westerly and seeing it super smooth. i guess if there was no wind could use it to just tow people aswell.

its hard for unhooking and trying new tricks out there. the gusts hit your kite hard and sometimes feels like your arms are being ripped out of their sockets. A lot of the time your powered up for a jump and then the wind stops, then other times you jump and a gust hits taking you higher than what you expected. its pretty frustrating when the wind is dead onshore but if you get it in a ssw its cross shore the place is more consistent but it loses the glassed up water. When you see it you'll want to go out, you might have a good sess, or a really bad one.
