In the words of the present Mrs Bird " Why don't you just buy a mirror". Her words not mine !!! As you can guess she isn't keen on the Birdie budget parting with $400

if you have a few gopros on tripods and bouys and your helmet and on the kite then yeah sure why not get a shot from the boards perspetive. it would have to be the least useful and worthless shot so just make sure you do it last.

honestly i wouldnt get to carried away in this gopro nonsense. if you must get one. put it on helmet cam for a few sessions till you realise its stupid. then just put it on a tripod so you can watch your sessions and use them as a study guide to help improve your style/tricks etc. for gods sake dont make a video and try show the world. theres a million+ kitesurfers bobing around this little dustball and a very small percentage of them are worth watching.

I used a suction mount until i sank to the bottom of the river. Chest mount gives good views. Set it up looking at arms/bar and kite or extend it out facing direction of travel. I'm yet to make a satisfactory line or strut mount.

I prefer this angle rather than the fin mount

I have tried the surf mount on a twintip but you dont get enough perspective to make it worth while, but it does work and hold and take a beating.

Yeah, you need to be aware it's there. I was kiting on a fairly shallow lagoon and a couple of times it did hit the bottom, but luckily no damage to myself. The worst incident was when a women i didn't know landed me and as she continued on and walked by me l swung around, forgetting l had the mount on, and whacked her right in the face, luckily i never saw here again
