If I was that dude ^^^

I'd punch over that next whitewash,

gain a little speed on the flats,

throw into a snappy chicken-gybe,

head back towards shore,

gybe,,,

and fang back out hoping for a lull in the sets.

lol.

No the last pic I posted is a bit further north, but within the same bay, I've never seen it close out right across, but it was doing it that day.

@waveslave, nah, no-one on a windsurfer got out the back, he is still well within the shelter of the rocks, and that white wash coming towards him knocked him over several times, and he had to try and waterstart again. He is an experienced local windsurfer, always out if its windy, but there is no way he could get beyond the point without truly risking his life. The waves breaking out the back were at least 6-7M faces and the walls of whitewater were well over mast high. I saw one local kiter sneak out the back for a look, but quickly did a chicken turn and ran for cover from a massive set that broke way out wide of where he probably though he was safe to pick up a wave to ride. He was also one of the most experienced local kiters, funny both are named Pete!

If you disregard the third breaking wave I had a set almost exactly that size that here in nz on that day. I had just the perfect amount of power so I decided to punt a jump off the wave and gap the 2 waves and land on the back side of the second wave. I pulled it off and it was freaken fantastic. Would have been very painfull had I not made the gap!.
