just bought some second hand north gear which consisted of 2x 5-line bars and 2x rebel kites. i also bought a dice which is a 4 line kite.
is it possible to remove the 5th line on one of my bars?

Yeah be careful converting 5th line bars to 4. Not all can fly properly without the 5th lines, especially the Edge (correct me if I am wrong). The 5th line is like the 2 front lines and has tension. If the 5th line is longer or has a "sag" to it when flying you "may" be able to remove it without affecting the flying abilities of the kite. Foil kites, with 5th line can be pretty much removed and the bar turned into a 4th line, but best to check with the store or manufacturer to be 100%. Just to save a few $$$ and have a "one bar fits all" is not guaranteed to work.
