The cockroach of Stand up paddle boards...

You know what they say - cockroaches, nuclear bombs, holocaust etc... Well Surftech have come up with a board that will stand up to all the abuse you can throw at it - they call it the B1 Bomber.

Gone are the days of carefully tucking your stand up paddle board into it's custom board bag, gingerly placing it on the board racks at home and hoping your cat doesn't sleep on it at night time. With the B1 bomber, chuck in in the back of your ute - drag it out and leave it on the garage floor at home; and hey, if you're wife kicks you out of bed for talking SUP in your sleep, throw a sheet over the top and sleep on it. Then, if you do happen to ding it, just bash it back into shape and paddle it tomorrow.

This kind of board is what SUP has been missing, and already several companies are bring these ultra-tough boards to the market for schools and heavy handed paddlers. Sure, they're definitely not as light as a conventional board, but the durability means it will cope with kids, dogs, ute trays and the world in general. And that's nothing but a good thing...

Opening in August 2007, Kitepower Australia Queensland, or KPQ, is the newest addition to the Kitepower chain. In September 2011, KPQ moved a few blocks down the road to a newly refurbished shopfront. The move allowed the shop to expand into other watersports like stand-up paddling and wakeboarding, as well as beachwear and toys. Across the road from the store is Pelican park and Bells beach, which are the perfect locations for flying kites and practising all kinds of watersports...
