Power of the Paddle hits Coolum this November.

Details have just been announced for the Ocean Addicts Power of the paddle event in November this year, and according to the organisers, it's set to be the biggest BOP style event ever seen in Australia.

Held in conjunction with the Golden Days music festival at Coolum, the event is sure to be a sellout with the after party being held at the festival, and heavily reduced ticket prices for competitors. The Golden Days festival hasn't yet released their line-up, but it's rumoured that they'll hosting big name bands like the Bamboo's, so don't miss it!

As for the paddling event, Ocean Addicts have worked hard on the format, and Swannie promises: "This year will be different. As a committee we are working out the exact format to ensure all paddlers will have the chance at more than one race. Trust us you are going to love it."

After the success of Jamie Mitchell's Survivor SUP format in Waikiki earlier this month, the Coolum based event could even feature the first Australian version of the Survivor SUP format. There's an event for the surfers too, with a surf competition being held on the Sunday morning. With such an epic after party being organised on the Saturday night, there could be some sore heads on the Sunday which is sure to level the playing field!

Get in early to book accommodation, with such a huge music festival on at the same time, beds will fill quickly around the Coolum area (it's not a big place!) so if you're coming, get on it now to secure a spot.

As the event gets closer we'll bring you more details on the formats, bands playing and who's racing.

In September 2011, KPQ moved a few blocks down the road to a newly refurbished shopfront. The move allowed the shop to expand into other watersports like stand-up paddling and wakeboarding, as well as beachwear and toys. Across the road from the store is Pelican park and Bells beach, which are the perfect locations for flying kites and practising all kinds of watersports...
