Talia Gangini's one of Maui's hottest names at the moment and she's definitely one to watch on the stand up paddle tour this year. You could say Talia is another claim to fame for the little town of Paia on the north shore of Maui, which is renowned for being the starting place of most Stand up paddling companies in the world, including her sponsors Coreban, plus Naish and Cabrinha. It's also the much loved (and talked about) home towns of many high profile waterman (whether it's kitesurfing, SUP or Windsurfing). There's just something about this little hippy town that breeds creativity, plus the fact that one of the best (and most reliable) downwind runs on the planet runs right by the town. 

This winter has brought some great SUP swell to the windy island of Maui, nothing huge; just a good head high set every now and again. In this video you'll get a glimpse of the average Maui swell this time of year, plus some great stand up paddle surfing and a nice summer tune... 

Opening in August 2007, Kitepower Australia Queensland, or KPQ, is the newest addition to the Kitepower chain. In September 2011, KPQ moved a few blocks down the road to a newly refurbished shopfront. The move allowed the shop to expand into other watersports like stand-up paddling and wakeboarding, as well as beachwear and toys. Across the road from the store is Pelican park and Bells beach, which are the perfect locations for flying kites and practising all kinds of watersports...
