8% of Australian's commute to work by SUP

It's on the internet, so it must be true! English newspaper 'The Daily Star' reported this week on a group of stand up paddlers choosing to paddle to school, comparing them to Aussie workers. "Research shows that Britons spend an average of 570 days per lifetime travelling to school or work in a car." Tells the report, "By contrast, down under, 80 per cent of Australians incorporate exercise into their commute. More than one in 10 of these does that by stand-up paddle boarding. " Dressed up in their school formal uniform, complete with backpacks full of books - three guys, a girl, and her dog jumped on stand up paddleboards for the morning commute to school in London. They say that 'Brits' shoudl aim to be more like their healthy Aussie counterparts, 80 percent of which (they say) incorporate exercise into their daily commute. Whether that includes the act of walking from their house, to the car was not discolosed. Aiming to promote healthy exercise by stand up paddleboard, the group made headlines all over the UK for the idea. It is a great idea too, for anyone who works near a river! Stand up paddleboards are so stable these days, that a commute is definitely within the realms of possibility. Simply pack a spare pair of jocks in case you fall off, and join your fellow stand up paddlers to become one of the 10% of exercising Aussie commuters who get to work by stand up paddleboard.
