Held from 10-18 October 2009, the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games will see competitors from more than 100 countries take part in 28 sports, including sailing.

The Hobie 16 will be racing in the Sydney 2009 World Masters Games, where participants from 35 years of age will experience friendly competition administered at the highest level. Hobie 16 events will be held at Woollahra Sailing Club.

The Games will be an event where all, regardless of ability, can celebrate their love of sport. Where all, irrespective of age, can demonstrate their passion for life. Where all can achieve their personal best.

Age Categories:

Open: 35+, 45+, 55+, 65+
Age determined at 31 December 2009.

In crews of mixed ages, the average age of the entire crew will determine the age category. All members of a crew must meet the minimum age requirement (i.e. be at least 35 years of age as at 31 December 2009.)
