Bob Oatley?s Rolex Sydney Hobart race record holder Wild Oats XI has emerged from a rugged crossing of Bass Strait virtually unscathed and is now sailing south at around 11 knots at the head of the fleet. The yacht?s co-navigator, Adrienne Cahalan, has just reported the 30-metre long supermaxi was located about 100 nautical miles east of St Helens on Tasmania?s northeast coast. They yacht was once again under full sail and on a course that had her sailing almost directly towards their next target, Tasman Island at the entrance to Storm Bay, which was 150 nautical miles ahead.
