Racing under way on decision day at Airlie Beach
At the start of racing on the penultimate day of racing at Meridien Marinas Airlie Beach Race Week, the trade winds were blowing 10-12 knots out on Pioneer Bay.
In IRC Division 1, Living Doll got a good pin end start from Quantum Racing. The rest of the fleet tacked right, and heading towards the first mark Quantum Racing was leading from Wired.
At the windward mark, Quantum Racing had gained the lead and rounded 17 seconds ahead of Wired, with a further 10 seconds back to Living Doll.
All classes are sailing a triangular course out in the Bay toay, and after a short postponement IRC divsion 2 has just strted.
The breeze is presently 12-14 knots and building.
