Monsoon Cup: 150,000 people expected to flock to Terengganu

Monsoon Cup: According to the Malaysian Government around 150,000 spectators are expected to travel to Terengganu to watch the six-day final event in the 2010 World Match Racing titles beginning on November 30. The Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Datuk Salim Parlan said the prestigeous yachting championship last year had succeeded in bringing about 100,000 visitors to Pulau Duyong, the venue for the championship. 'By organising supporting events such as the 'people's sport', the longboat and kayak competitions, we expect more visitors to witness the events this year,' he told reporters after a visit to Pulau ...
