Want to be able to maintain your own boat but need to be more skilled? Want to be able to build your own boat? This winter you could embark on a rich and fascinating holiday in one of the oldest and most traditional yachting centres in the world - New Port Rhode Island - and learn the skills you need at the same time. The International Yacht Restoration School(IYRS) is offering summer skills training

During the coming U.S. Summer break - July and August - the School has teamed up with leaders in the marine industry and experienced instructors to provide time-efficient continuing education courses in modern marine and restoration craftsmanship. The curriculum is designed for maritime service professionals, boat yard employees and marine enthusiasts.
You can learn everything from marine wiring to diesel engine maintenance, or from building a daysailer to the keys skills for varnishing the brightwork.
Each course is hands on. Students learn by doing and when a course is completed, a IYRS Certificate is awarded attesting to the student's proficiency. Click herefor more detailed information about the courses.
About the International Yacht Restoration School
The IYRS is a non-profit institution dedicated to education and maritime preservation which provides full time courses - the summer courses are merely building on this expertise.
