Laser Midwinters East - Cedergard and Railey are golden at 2010 event

The final day at the Laser Midwinters East was another light one. The race committee patiently waited for the southwest wind to settle in at around 6 knots before sending the gladiators on the course for the final two races.

The Laser Standard Gold Fleet remained in Swedish hands with Emil Cedergard from Gothenburg sailing it home with a comfortable 14-point margin over runner-up Lee Parkhill (CAN) and Simon Grotel?schen (GER) 19 points back. Paul Goodison (GBR) staged a valiant comback, but carried one of his two BFDs. Best (and only) Master was John Bertrand, who had a BFD and some high scores toward the end, finishing 35.

The Laser Radial Gold Fleet was never in question with Paige Railey (USA) the runaway winner, 13 points ahead of Lisa Ross (CAN) and 36 ahead of Maike Foght Schutt (DEN).

No changes in the Laser 4.7 class on the last day. Columbian Steban Echevarria, remained well ahead of Juanky Perdomo (PUR) and Ravi parent (USA).
