Images from Valencia: USA-17 and Alinghi 5 line up for the first time

The two protagonists in the 33rd America's Cup lined up off Valencia yesterday, here are the first images of that encounter. Unfortunately the wind failed to arrive, and the hook-up was in name only. However this was the first chance to see the two giant multihulls side by side.

BMW Oracle Racing now have more sponsors on the wingsail - arguably the most expensive billboard space ever - and maybe also the most viewed - particularly amongst the yachting fraternity.
