Now in its second year, the Clive Peeters L2H is firmly established on the Australian off shore racing calendar.

This premier sailing event is a 280 nm race that will start on the 27th of December 2008 off the mouth of the Tamar River and finish at Castray Esplanade in Hobart sharing the same finish line as the Heemskirk Consolidated Melbourne/Hobart and Rolex Sydney/Hobart Yacht Races.

The Clive Peeters Launceston to Hobart (L2H) Race originated from an approach from the Geilston Bay Boat Club to the Derwent Sailing Squadron to run a race from Launceston to Hobart to coincide with the Melbourne to Hobart Race. The idea gained strong support from the DSS and, after gaining cooperation from the Tamar Yacht Club, the L2H Race concept was confirmed.

Major trophies will be awarded for Line Honours, IRC and PHS Divisions and there will also be a Cruising Division subject to sufficient entries.

Competing yachts will be accomodated at the Hobart wharf area and crews and supporters can share in the festivities of the Hobart Summer Festival.

If you would like more information about the race or any assistance please contact the Race Office at the Derwent Sailing Squadron on 03 6223 1977.
