Anger Management scores the Brownie points for Sail Port Stephens

The Newcastle based Beneteau 40.7, Anger Management, joins the list of Sail Port Stephens returnees and is excited about competing in the Yachting NSW IRC Championships at the regatta in April this year.
The Anger Management boys loved everything about the event last year and made particular mention of the social side of the regatta, rating it as first class....and being able to take the family along to the social activities each night, making them feel involved, negated the need to cash in hard earned brownie points.

In fact, they believe that they may even clocked up more brownie points with wives, partners and kids because of the relaxed fun they were all able to enjoy together in the evenings !

And this is one of the key reasons why they are so keen to be back at Sail Port Stephens in a few months time.

Owned by Phil Arnall and his son Richard, Anger Management has been campaigned well over the last 12 months in the NCYC Sunday point score, as well as a selection of blue-water races like Pittwater to Coffs and Sydney to Southport, and the occasional CYCA offshore race.

Phil rates Sail Port Stephens last year as a great learning experience for him and his crew, and they're looking forward to putting all they've learnt since, into practice this year.

'The inaugural regatta was our first opportunity to do windward leeward racing against some very well tuned boats with crews that were very experienced - so it really tested us!' he said.

He was glowing in his praise for the regatta, both on and off the water.

'We really enjoyed the professionalism of the whole event, particularly from PRO Denis Thompson who is just fantastic at keeping everyone in the loop about delays, course bearings etc...' he said.
'As a Newcastle boat, it's great for us to have such a professionally run regatta in a prime location without the logistics of a long distance delivery'

Phil said it was also great to be able to meet a number of the elite and well known sailors who travelled from Melbourne and Sydney for the IRC Championship part of the regatta - indicating that having that next level of experience to compete against makes everyone push themselves that little bit harder.
