GPSTC rules have changed... and it impacts you!!
I'm sure this will come as a surprise to many of you, but less than a week ago the gpstc committee change the rules without telling anyone or sending out any form of communication.

Does this affect you? Hell yes it does.

To paraphrase, the new rules now stipulate that you must be able to produce any file regardless of age for any session you've recorded. This means that if someone contests your PB from 3 or 4 years ago, you'd better be able to produce the file or they'll delete your numbers.

What a joke! I mean, it would be fair to say something like "from this date forward you must keep all your files". But no, the new rules mean the committee can request the file for any session that dates back to the beginning of the comp.

"Hey, can we check Sam Parker's files please. Oh, he doesn't have them.... must be a cheat then."

(sorry for using you, Sam, as an example. I just wanted to highlight that you could potentially loose your awesome numbers because I suspect you don't have your files from years ago).

Here's a screen shot I took just 10 days ago. Go ahead and read the data verification rules.

And here's a screenshot from today. See the new rules!

So we've gone from being required to keep files for just a month to keeping files forever. Gee, I hope your computer never crashes and you loose those precious files.

When were we going to be told about this?

This opens ever competitor up to scrutiny. Anyone can contest your session numbers and if you don't have the file, your numbers will be deleted and some wankers might even accuse you of cheating.

C'mon gpstc, this is ridiculous.
